Trial Tuesday: More Toothpaste Hacks Tested

Last week, I tested the toothpaste nail fill hack trying to see if you could use toothpaste to fill holes in the wall made from nails. This got me wondering what else you could use toothpaste for. After searching Pinterest, I found two hacks that use toothpaste: removing sticker residue and removing pen ink stains quickly.

1. Removing Sticker Residue With Toothpaste

According to 1000hacks.com, you can use toothpaste to remove sticker residue from objects. I recently went thrifting so I had sticker to remove!

TEST

Step 1
Remove the sticker

Step 2
Add your toothpaste and spread it around. Let the toothpaste sit for at least 5 minutes.

Step 3
Use a scouring pad and water to scrub the toothpaste and residue away. I couldn't scrub and take a photo so I will insert the after below

After

Results: FAIL

The residue is still on the bottom! This method does not work unfortunately.

2. Removing Pen Ink With Toothpaste

Before

Also from 1000hacks.com, remove ink stains easily with toothpaste, a little hand soap, and water.

Step 1
Add toothpaste to the ink spot

You will notice that the stain will begin to lift instantly!

Step 2
Use soap and water to rub out the toothpaste.

After

Results: PASS

THIS WORKS! I was shocked but the toothpaste/ soap combination took the ink out with no effort. I will have to remember this!

**Thanks for reading! What hacks would you like me to test out next? Leave it in the comments below.**

  1. For a sticker, I think just using a scouring pad would work, without the toothpaste. But removing ink with toothpaste! Wow!! That is good to know.

    1. The product Goo Gone also works really well and is sold at Dollar Tree. Check it out for stubborn stickers!
