Makeup Monday: Cheap Makeup Brush Review

I recently purchased new synthetic makeup brushes on Amazon for $9.99 and I could not be happier! These brushes came directly from Amazon (not typical for the price) and were just as advertised. This set is perfect for daily use and you cannot beat the price!

This is how the brushes looked when I received them:

Below you can see a brush chart with numbers and purposes for each brush.

Now, while brushes do have specific purposes, not all faces are the same shape or size so use what works. I like to clean my brushes every few weeks, so I always keep extras. I have not used all of the brushes from the set yet, but I can make a full face out of the ones that I have tried.

Face Brushes

  • F80- Liquid foundation
  • F88- Bronzer
  • F86- Loose powder
  • F82- Blush

Eyes Brushes

  • P86- Crease (defining)
  • P84- All over, lid
  • P88- Blender

Extra Brushes

  • F84
  • P80
  • P82

My Opinion:
I know that it will not last forever but I will get my money's worth in use; you just cannot beat the price! The brushes are pretty heavy in weight and the brush bristles are thick but extremely soft. Since the bristles are so thick, they pick up a lot of product with little effort.

The only con that I can see with these brushes is that the amount of product that the bristles pick up makes your brushes dirty fast, so expect to clean them often. However, I will note that the bristles are just as soft after cleaning, which is another bonus.

For all of these reasons, I would have to rate this product an Amazon 5 out of 5 stars!

If you are interested in this product, please follow this Amazon link. Right now, these brushes are only $7.20 so now would be the time to buy!

  1. Question: how do you clean these brushes? How long do you allow them to dry? I have always used my fingers to put on foundation. Does a brush really cover as well with foundation? Thanks!

    1. Brushes cover your face 100xs better than your fingers can! Your fingers have oil in them, which traps bacteria and the makeup that you are applying. Now this same bacteria can get into your makeup brushes but you can avoid this just by cleaning the brushes every few weeks. 2. Thank you, Jess. Very good information. I do have some brushes I bought at the dollar store now but haven't used them with my foundation. I love your blog.

    3. You can usually find the Elf Foundation brush at Dollar Tree. Look for it next time if you can.
