How To Do Wednesday: Doing Disney On A Budget

As some of you may already know, a few weeks ago I was on vacation in Anaheim, CA and I made my way to Disneyland! I knew that I wanted to go but it had to be done on a budget so I spent countless hours researching and I wanted to put all of my findings in one post. This blog entry will include ticket costs, researching park hours, and other helpful tips for your visit to Disney.

Ticket Prices

Honestly, you will be extremely lucky if you get your Disney tickets for cheap because they are the highest priced item of your visit! Disney encourages you to get your discount by going for multiple days, but again it can get pricy.

Things to Buy Before Disney
  • Mickey/ Minnie Ears (starting at $18.00 on site)
  • Disney character shirts or outfits (these are sooo pricy at Disney)
  • Autograph Book (starting at $8.00 on site)
  • Character Pen (no joke, the cheapest ink pen is $6.00)
  • Water Bottle (you can bring it in with you empty)
  • Snacks (cereal bars, fruit snacks, etc)
  • Glow sticks for the Disney parade
  • Other souvenirs (sneak them in or give them to the kids before you go to save money)
  • Cheap tip: Bring quarters and pennies for the Penny Push machines in Downtown Disney ($0.51 per penny)

5 Free Disney Souvenirs On Site

1. Your Ticket. Save your ticket as a keepsake from your trip.

2. Park Map. They are available at the front entrance of the park and are available in multiple languages. The map would look great in a frame with you tickets.

3. Celebratory Buttons. You can get buttons at Disney for celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, first visits, and even honeymoons. You can also get a pin that just simply says "I'm Celebrating" if you are with someone celebrating. These buttons are available at all of the Gift Shops and at Customer Service.

4. Stickers. Ask a greeter or photographer for some free stickers, they always have them handy.

5.Fairy Dust/ Mickey Glitter. Fairy dust is in Downtown Disney at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, just ask a cast member. Mickey glitter is available in the Barber Shop on Main Street.
