Fashion Friday: Black Friday 2014

Well, its here... Black Friday. Did you go shopping? I did and always do but I was not out at 6PM when some of the stores opened. I actually had a pretty pleasant experience, it was not too busy out there and I got a lot of great deals!

Today's post will include a few of the items that I got, along with my promised Outfit Of The Day for Thanksgiving and makeup. I can't share much because most of what I bought were gifts but I will share what I can.


1. Kohl's
Horse Hoody and Slippers for my daughter. The slippers were half price and the hoody was on clearance at 60% off!



Body spray and lip balms for my little sisters. Shh!!




2. Target
2-Pack of Throw Pillows
This pack was on sale for $12. I may try a DIY in the near future with them and add a pattern.

3. The Children's Place
$5 novelty tees and half-priced boots. These are not a gift so my daughter will be wearing this on Monday.




4. Bath and Body Works
Surprises. Can't share but great deals! And remember, there is always a $10 off $30 coupon somewhere.



Thanksgiving Makeup
I look less than excited in this picture and I am sorry! I could not get a picture with good lighting and I was getting annoyed. I went with a basic makeup look for Thanksgiving. To see a tutorial on this look, please click  here.




Thanksgiving OOTD
3/4 long-john fabric top, flannel vest with hood, straight leg jeans, and my favorite boots of 2014, my quilted brown boots. They were perfect to shop in too. I opted for cozy this Thanksgiving.

What you will need: Candle Jars (Square or Round) Candle Stick Holders Ribbon (optional) All materials for this project can be found at Dollar Tree in the candle isle. Trial Tuesday: Removing Printed Labels From Plastic

So if you have been following my blog. you know that I have really been getting more organized in 2015. One way that I continue to add new items to my home is to recycle the products that I use. Recently, I came across this Pin that I wanted to try out for baking ingredient storage: find this tutorial on www.hometalk.com Now while this idea is very clever I wasn't sure if I would use paint to redo the cans that I have. This got me thinking about another Pin that I saw on Pinterest about removing printed labels with nail polish remover. Found on www.2busybrunettes.com After I saw this Pin, I checked it out on YouTube and with thin plastic, it does work. With this in mind I wondered if I could remove the label from the Folgers Container. Which brings us to this weeks trial. Trial Tuesday: Removing Scratches From Wood

If you haven't figured it out by now, furniture is not made like it used to be. For this reason, when looking for wooden pieces I usually opt for the old, heavy wooden pieces over the plywood of today. So, when I look for furniture, it's typically at a thrift store or rummage sale. I take such pride in finding pieces and repurposing them. You can take something old and make it like new with a little effort. While repainting furniture can be fun, it is even better when you find a piece that just needs a good cleaning. So when I came across the Pin below, I was very curious to see if this technique worked. TRIAL What You Will Need 1/2 Cup Olive Oil 1/2 Cup Vinegar Wash Cloth Before Directions Mix vinegar and oil.
